Actually, this tension exists throughout Scripture. The Old Testament speaks of loving one’s enemy, and the New Testament speaks of God’s wrath and justice. It’s not a case of God changing, but of us oversimplifying his message and reducing to a shadow the most magnificent Person in the universe; stripping him of an entire dimension.
