Two of Many Examples

Psalm 13:1-2, 6-7
How long, Lord?
Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
having sorrow in my heart every day?
How long shall my enemy triumph over me? . . .

But I trust in your loving kindness.
My heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has been good to me.

Psalm 22:6-7, 13, 15, 22-30
But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.
All those who see me mock me.
They insult me with their lips. . . .
They open their mouths wide against me,
Lions tearing prey and roaring. . . .
My strength is dried up like a potsherd.
My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth.
You have brought me into the dust of death. . . .

Among the assembly, I will praise you.
You who fear the Lord, praise him!
All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him!
Stand in awe of him, all you descendants of Israel! . . .

Of you comes my praise in the great assembly . . .
All the relatives of the nations shall worship before you.
For the kingdom is the Lord’s.
He is the ruler over the nations. . . .
Posterity shall serve him.
Future generations shall be told about the Lord.
